Birch Bay – Blaine Parks and Recreation Presentation
Shelly Moore discussed the role that the BBP&RD supports the community thru funding youth sports and overall activities. She also mentioned that there is a vote on the present County-wide ballot, trying to provide the same level of funding that was provided in the past year….no proposed increases to the total amount or property owner levee.
Financial Update – Margaret Owens
Recent income totaled ~$5,500
Present account is at ~$24,700
BAC 2023 Taxes have been filed
Annual report has been filed
Moving to a new / updated QuickBooks program for accounting
Moved the BAC account to Umpqua to reduce costs and increase services
Artist Display Opportunities in Blaine – Margaret Owens

Margaret continues to search out opportunities.
Wave En Blanc Update – Gaye Sawicki
Fund Raiser (Friday night fund raiser) venue secured in Blaine at the Boat House and at the Blaine Marine Park (artist walk / tours)
Need a Silent Auction Coordinator for the event. There will be people to help the coordinator.
Looking for donations to the Silent Auction that focus on “Experiences”, not just “things”.
Dianne Butts reported that she is coordinating the “Wine Pull “event at the Wave En Blanc; We are looking for about twice the # of bottles as last year. This is a big part of our fundraising. Keep talking to potential companies, vineyards, and people you know to contribute. Minimum $ value is $25 / bottle.
Marketing and advertising – Wave En Blanc and General – Sara Weaver
Good progress being made on developing a ~ 12-page brochure that can be put into the Northern Lights paper distribution and various area locations. The intent is to highlight local artists and the Blaine Arts Council in general.
Artist Presentation – Rock Morris – “Human Murals”
Mr. Morris gave a great presentation on how he approaches his design and final products of what he refers to as “Human Murals” The final product cones from his sketches and then incorporating parts of the sketches into a final mural rendering / shape.
Future Presentation Opportunities for Artists at Monthly General Meeting – Margaret Owens
Openings are available in April and October 2024. The remaining monthly meeting presentations are already spoken for. These opportunities are for a 30-minute duration.

Margaret Owens reminded all BAC members that the agenda for the March General Meeting includes an “Adult Show and Tell”. Contact Margaret if you would like to make a 5-minute presentation.
