General Business – Margaret Owens
- Chase bank accounts opened; 1 or normal business and 1 for Gallery funding
- Local realtor is aware of our ideas and needs; the realtor is also aware of the Gallery concept
- Mural Project Update – dates Aug 22 thru Aug 26, 2024
- 1 sponsor so far for ‘24
- Goal: a mural in the Blaine Middle School for 2025
- Goal: a mural (2?) in the Blaine Senior Center
Infrastructure Committee Report
- Primary goal is the Gallery on Peace Portal Way in Blaine; 2 rooms for displays; 1 room for sales and 1 room for classes / teaching
- Also looking at ways to enhance the walls at the Sr. Center
- Also looking at ways to enhance youth and indigenous art
Memberships Report
- Auto renews start in April of 2024
- Members can change their membership level to align with their needs, including opting out
Wave En Blanc Report
RE: Silent Auction – Rachel Hughes is the lead; ALL MEMBERS need to secure items
- A “Reach Out” letter is available for everyone to use as they reach out to potential donors – contact Gaye Sawicki
- Please let Rachel Hughes know ASAP when you have secured a donor so we can share that with other Members
Blaine Birch Bay Parks and Recreation Report
- upcoming summer art lessons for kids – TEACHERS NEEDED – 2- hour classes
- Rock painting
- Taught in local art studios
Adult “Show and Tell”
- Dana Hayden – wooden art – baskets and plates – lathe work – incredible; discussed that there is a “wood turners” club in the area if interested in contact – contact Dana
- Georgia Donovan – showed impressive dog and “old Man” works
- Vaune Ainsworth – showed art on the walls in the Senior Center and discussed her career in art and psychology
- ??? – showed his work in painting owls – impressive
- Jesse Hughes – displayed some of his pottery projects
- Christy Llyod – discussed calligraphy art and her works thru the years
- Rock Morris – presented his “Flotsam and Jetsom” sculptures
