I have been a carpenter for 47 years. I’m a widowed father of two from the Midwest, where my son and daughter still live. I started woodturning 12 years ago as a release for my creativity since carpentry has its limits on how creative you can get. What started as a hobby has become a near full time passion. I turn different items on a wood lathe. Some of the things that I turn are Christmas ornaments that sometimes I add pyrography to such as Christmas themes, birds, wildlife, mountain bikes, ect. I also turn bowls both conventional and live edge. Also I do a process called “Basket Illusion” where an item such as a bowl is made to look like a basket, it can fool the eye! I also turn baby rattles, lidded boxes and pipes along with many other items.
