Tomas Vrba is a large-scale metal and wood sculptor located in Bellingham, WA. Originally trained as an art restorer and classical woodcarver in his native country of Slovakia, Tomas holds a master’s degree in wood and stone sculpture restoration from VSVU Bratislava, one of Europe’s premier fine arts institutions. He started his career as a stone sculpture restorer in Vienna, helping to preserve the sculptures on important buildings such as Staatsoper (Opera House), Karlskirche, and the Vienna Parliament building. In 2006, Tomas moved to the Seattle area with his wife (a lifelong Washingtonian). Together, they opened Tomas Vrba Studio. Since then, he has worked full time as a sculptor in metal, wood, and stone. His art has been exhibited in Seattle, Vienna, Bratislava and British Columbia and can be seen in public works projects and private collections throughout the country.
