Tom was born and raised in The Netherlands. He currently lives and works in Greater Seattle, WA, USA. Tom studied art and interior design in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. During his studies he learned about Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. He loved his work. Today Mondrian is still his biggest inspiration. For 24 years Tom has created high-quality modern art. For 41 years he has been a professional designer. His work has been sold by art galleries in Vancouver, BC, Canada, art shows and directly to private and corporate collectors. His largest commission to date is called “Primarily Family”. It was installed in a client’s home at Big Horn Golf Club in Palm Desert, CA, USA and tells a wonderful story. His most recent commissions were sold to a private collector in Clyde Hill, WA, USA and an AC by Marriott Hotel in Seattle, WA, USA. Tom's painting called "Rising from Ashes" was donated to the community of the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles in response to the LA fires in the hope to uplift people who lost so much. It was installed at the American Legion Post 283 which is located right in the Pacific Palisades. His painting “New Life” was installed in the reception area of the Childbirth Center of Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, WA, USA. Some of his work has been installed aboard luxury motor yachts. Tom works with acrylic on stretched canvas and canvas-wrapped panels in various techniques. Tom’s art and story have been featured in 425 Magazine, Greet-West Bellevue Magazine, WAC Magazine and BOAT International Magazine.
